BK Paws and Play was founded in 2015, quickly gaining a reputation as the most comprehensive and reliable pet care service available in Brooklyn. Before taking the leap to establish BK Paws and Play, owners Mike and Trista provided dog walking and pet sitting services for years as Brooklyn based freelancers.  They have become highly experienced and developed long lasting relationships with countless pet owners.  Mike and Trista have an intuitive sensitivity towards dogs, and have fostered and rehabilitated multiple rescues themselves.  

BK Paws and Play promotes balanced care for the whole dog.  This means that in addition to physical health, we also cater to your dog’s mental and emotional well being.  We know that a dog is their happiest with a calm assertive leader to trust and follow.  We keep our dogs actively engaged with physical and verbal cues, and use positive reinforcement to promote healthy behavior.  This may include sitting to get their leash on, walking to the side or behind their walker, sitting at crosswalks before crossing, or exhibiting calm balanced behavior when meeting other dogs or people.  Routines may vary based on the needs and abilities of each individual dog. Integrating these techniques can help raise your dog’s confidence and cognition, while also lowering stress.  Our methods are absolutely guaranteed to help your dog feel more balanced and fulfilled.
